Social Awareness Campaign
Save the Elephants
Each Year 20,000 African Elephants are killed each year for their Ivory trusts. This social awareness campaign focuses on the fight to stop poaching elephants for their ivory tusks, from the perspective of the IFAW organization. The campaign captivates the viewer from a unique lens, the print ad mimicking a crime scene of an elephant. The chalk out lines of the crime scene tell the story, one being the outline of the elephant, and two out lines of the tusks, separate from the elephant. Just by viewing the imagery, this tells the viewer that the act of killing elephants for their trusts is a crime. Layered on top of the imagery is a powerful statistic that captivates the viewer even more. All together the tone of this ad is heavy and impactful, compelling the viewer to donate to the organization to help stop poaching.

Interactive Design
The interactive design for the ad campaign is an app that allows the viewer to “adopt an elephant” where all proceed to protect against poaching. Unfortunately you cannot actually take the elephant home however, the user has the ability to “adopt an elephant” which allows them to name the elephant, track the elephant on a map, and receive weekly updates and photos of the elephant. The User would access this through the IFAW app which has been carefully designed. The tone of this app is inviting, friendly, and inspiring. Simple design elements were chosen to reflect the animals natural habitat in east Africa, such as the footer design
